Today 22nd December:

Some bright or sunny spells. There will be a chance some showery rain across the north of Orkney and southern Shetland . Otherwise dry. Light winds. Maximum temperature 4 °C.

Tonight:

A few clear spells possible at first across Orkney, but generally cloudy. Showery outbreaks of rain over Shetland and later on over Orkney too. Light to moderate easterly winds. Minimum temperature 1 °C.

Thursday 23rd December:

A mostly dry day. Cloudy in the morning across Orkney, but sunny spells for Shetland, these spreading to Orkney in the afternoon. A few scattered showers. Maximum temperature 7 °C.

Outlook for Friday to Sunday:

Mainly dry Friday, a few wintery showers and fresh east or northeast winds. Winds easing, but further wintery showers Christmas and Boxing day, mainly over Shetland.
