Today 24th December:

It will be a bright day with a scattering of wintry showers across Shetland, but Orkney will be mainly dry. Feeling cold in the fresh to strong northeasterly winds, these easing in the afternoon. Maximum temperature 4 °C.

Tonight:

Still a scattering of wintry showers, but often dry with occasional clear spells. A widespread frost and east to northeast winds mainly light to moderate. Minimum temperature -2 °C.

Saturday 25th December:

Christmas Day will be mainly dry, cold and bright with a scattering of wintry showers. A widespread frost early and later in the day with winds mostly light. Maximum temperature 4 °C.

Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday:

Bright or clear spells and a scattering of showers on Boxing Day. Chilly winds. Cloudier with showers or the odd longer spell of rain on Monday and Tuesday. Turning milder.
