A bright day with sunny spells and still some showers. The showers mainly this morning, dying out during the afternoon. Fresh west or northwest winds. Maximum temperature 5 °C.

Tonight:

Dry with clear periods and a frost, winds becoming light for a time. Becoming cloudy later tonight with freshening southerly winds. Minimum temperature -2 °C.

Saturday 8th January:

Cloudy with rain crossing Orkney in the morning then Shetland in the afternoon. Drier, brighter weather following to Orkney. Fresh southerly winds becoming lighter in afternoon. Maximum temperature 7 °C.

Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday:

Showers at first on Sunday then drier and brighter. Rain for a time on Monday then sunshine and showers on Monday afternoon and Tuesday along with strong southwesterly winds.
