Mostly dry and rather cloudy with just a few brighter interludes. Still the odd patch of drizzle with more persistent rain reaching Shetland by evening. Staying mild with strong to gale force west to southwesterly winds. Maximum temperature 10 °C.
Tonight:
Cloudy with outbreaks of rain over Shetland this evening soon moving south towards Orkney as clearer skies reach Shetland by late evening. Orkney drying up later. Northwesterly winds gradually easing. Minimum temperature 4 °C.
Friday 14th January:
A mainly dry day, with the best of any sunny intervals expected across Shetland. Orkney mainly cloudy, with some light rain arriving towards evening, Lighter winds. Maximum temperature 7 °C.
Outlook for Saturday to Monday:
Mainly dry with sunny intervals on Saturday, a little evening rain. Gales, briefly severe, and occasional showers on Sunday, mainly dry and less windy on Monday.
