Mainly dry, bright morning with a few showers. Becoming cloudy this afternoon with outbreaks of light rain, mostly affecting Shetland. Strong to gale force westerly winds. Maximum temperature 7 °C.

Tonight:

It will stay cloudy with further patchy light rain, mostly over Shetland, dying out later tonight. Strong west or northwest winds easing a little. Minimum temperature 4 °C.

Monday 17th January:

Mostly cloudy with any light rain over Shetland soon dying out. Then a dry day with a few brighter interludes in the afternoon. Fresh westerly winds Maximum temperature 7 °C.

Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday:

Dry Tuesday morning then rain and strong winds. Much colder on Wednesday with strong northwesterly winds and wintry showers. Drier, less cold, rather cloudy weather following on Thursday, winds easing.
