Orkney will be mainly dry and cloudy through the day. Shetland and Fair Isle will be cloudy with a little light rain or drizzle, although more in the way of drier weather developing this afternoon. Brisk northwest to westerly winds. Maximum temperature 8 °C.
Tonight:
A mainly dry evening and night to come. Low cloud clearing across Orkney, and across Shetland for a time in the early hours. Brisk west to southwesterly winds across Shetland. Minimum temperature 6 °C.
Tuesday 18th January:
Mainly dry and rather cloudy, a little brightness possible across Orkney. Occasional rain in the evening. Fresh occasionally strong southwesterly winds, especially across Shetland. Maximum temperature 10 °C.
Outlook for Wednesday to Friday:
Cold and windy with wintry showers on Wednesday. Cloudy on Thursday and Friday with some occasional light rain, strong west or northwesterly winds at times.
