Mainly dry and rather cloudy, however a few showers are still likely in the morning for Shetland. Some bright spells will develop. Fresh northwest winds, occasionally strong in exposed areas. Maximum temperature 5 °C.
Tonight:
Quite cloudy again by the evening with some light patchy rain not out of the question, especially for Shetland. Fresh or strong northwesterly winds continuing and feeling cold. Minimum temperature 3 °C.
Friday 21st January:
Light rain or drizzle is likely in the morning for Shetland, otherwise a cloudy day, perhaps a few brighter spells for Orkney. Fresh to strong westerly winds. Maximum temperature 7 °C.
Outlook for Saturday to Monday:
Remaining quite cloudy with light rain at times, more persistent rain is expected later on Sunday or early Monday with another burst of colder weather afterwards.
