It will be a very windy day with west or northwest winds reaching severe gale or storm force. Rain in the morning will clear then bright spells and blustery showers, these turning wintry over Shetland later. Feeling cold. Maximum temperature 7 °C.
Tonight:
Severe northwesterly gales, reaching storm force at first over Shetland, will ease during the evening. Most of the wintry showers dying out with a frost developing under clearing skies. Minimum temperature 1 °C.
Sunday 30th January:
The odd wintry shower at first, otherwise a mainly dry and bright start. Cloud will increase with some rain spreading northeast through the afternoon. Freshening southerly winds. Maximum temperature 6 °C.
Outlook for Monday to Wednesday:
Sunny spells and snow showers on Monday. Overnight rain clearing followed by rain showers on Tuesday. A dry start then rain arriving on Wednesday. Often windy.
