A wellbeing project has just been launched to help people handle the pressures and challenges of life by taking a walk in Shapinsay.
A Reflective Routes booklet published by Shapinsay Kirk is also available to support those walking.

Shapinsay is an ideal and accessible place to take a step back, just 25 minutes by ferry from Kirkwall.

Suggestions for the outings, photos and illustrations were contributed by members of the community and gathered by the Kirk.
There are also copies of the walks on large print sheets which can be borrowed from the portacabin by the pier in Shapinsay.
The Kirk has received the bulk of its funding from the North Isles Landscape Partnership plus contributions from Shapinsay Community Council, Shapinsay Development Trust, Shapinsay Heritage, Arts and Crafts, Orkney Presbytery, Scapa Distillery, and individual local donations.
Retailing at £6 per copy the Shapinsay Reflective Routes booklet can be purchased at the Orcadian Bookshop, The Travel Centre, Head Start Hair Studio, Laing Street, Cast Affs, Shapinsay shop and at the Shapinsay Development Trust Boathouse office.
