Today 3rd February:

Only isolated showers for the morning with some limited brighter spells. Cloud thickening from the west through afternoon, with a band of occasionally heavy rain reaching the Northern Isles towards early evening, as southwest gales, perhaps severe gales, develop. Maximum temperature 10 °C.

Tonight:

Band of rain across Northern Isles initially, clearing to showers mid-evening, which turn wintry, frequent and occasionally heavy overnight, bringing chance of hail, thunder. Strong to gale westerly winds. Minimum temperature 0 °C.

Friday:

Cold in brisk northwest winds. Wintry showers frequent and heavy at times with continuing risk hail and thunderstorms. Maximum temperature 5 °C.

Outlook for Saturday to Monday:

Saturday starts with cloud and rain, which clears to blustery and increasingly wintry showers. Wintry showers Sunday, frequent and heavy at times. Rain then showers Monday.
