A few early wintry showers but increasing cloud brings more persistent rain east this morning. The rain clears soon after midday with a return to brief sunny spells and frequent, increasingly wintry, squally showers. Winds ease before westerly gales return. Maximum temperature 6 °C.
Tonight:
Frequent wintry showers and brief clearer spells continue through the evening and overnight, with snow to low levels at times. Occasionally severe westerly gales. Minimum temperature 0 °C.
Sunday 6th February:
Occasionally heavy, squally wintry showers, with some snow, and brief sunny spells through much of the day, the showers tending to ease in evening. Winds veering northwesterly and slowly easing. Maximum temperature 5 °C.
Outlook for Monday to Wednesday:
Bright start Monday but cloud and rain spreading east before a return to wintry showers later. Further occasionally heavy, wintry showers through Tuesday and Wednesday. Risk of gales throughout.
