Orkney Rape and Sexual Assault Service Nominated for Award

Orkney Rape and Sexual Assault Service (ORSAS) has been nominated for the SCVO Charity Awards in the Campaign of the Year category by Highlands and Islands SNP MSP Emma Roddick.

Emma Roddick visited ORSAS in October and heard about their Peedie Birds campaign, which she described as fantastic.

Commenting on nominating the organisation Emma Roddick said:

“Particularly in an area which still struggles with outdated views on stigma and how appropriate it is to speak out about experiences of sexual assault and harassment, ORSAS have managed to come up with a campaign that not only shines a light on the instances of this but is also accessible enough for even Orkney’s young people to engage with.

“They are making a huge difference to the experience of survivors in the Isles and they deserve to be recognised for this. I wish them all the best for the awards.”
