Dry this morning, perhaps a little hazy sunshine. Cloudy this afternoon with rain spreading from the west later. South to southeasterly gale or severe gales, easing across Orkney later this afternoon. Maximum temperature 9 °C.

Tonight:

Rain clearing Shetland through the evening. Then the rest of the night with clear periods and variable amounts of cloud. Strong southerly winds easing across Shetland. Minimum temperature 4 °C.

Thursday 10th March:

A cloudy day with some occasional light rain or drizzle, some drier interludes too. Freshening southeasterly winds in the afternoon, becoming strong by evening. Maximum temperature 9 °C.

Outlook for Friday to Sunday:

A changeable few days with some rain at times, strong south to southeasterly winds with gales at times.
