Dry, bright start for Orkney, rain soon clearing Shetland. Further cloud and showery rain spread north through the morning Rain clearing to sunny spells across Orkney, but lingering across Shetland. Strong to gale force winds for Shetland, lighter over Orkney. Maximum temperature 8 °C.

Tonight:

Showers, mainly over Shetland, this evening, dying out with increasing clear spells spreading north. Then a dry night. Winds easing, but freshening towards dawn. Minimum temperature 4 °C.

Sunday 13th March:

A dry bright start, but cloud thickening through the morning, then occasional rain from late morning and through the afternoon. Southeast winds strengthening with gales for Shetland, perhaps Orkney later. Maximum temperature 7 °C.

Outlook for Monday to Wednesday:

Mostly dry with sunny spells Monday, winds easing. Cloudier with rain later on. Cloudy and breezy with rain spreading east on Tuesday. Rain clearing to showers Wednesday.
