Some early morning brightness, but low cloud soon spreads across the Northern Isles, with outbreaks of rain or drizzle, mainly across Shetland. Low cloud lifting over Orkney later in the afternoon. Fresh to strong southeasterly winds, occasionally gale across Shetland. Maximum temperature 7 °C.
Tonight:
Low cloud and patchy rain across Shetland this evening, turning dry overnight, but cloud likely to remain. A dry evening and night across Orkney with cloud soon clearing. Lighter winds. Minimum temperature 4 °C.
Monday 14th March:
A dry day with plenty of sunshine, especially for Orkney. Some cloud likely across Shetland in the morning. Light to moderate southerly winds. Maximum temperature 10 °C.
Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday:
Increasingly cloudy with rain later on Tuesday. Patchy rain or showers Wednesday, winds easing, Breezy again on Thursday, rain for a time, but mostly dry.
