Today 2nd April:

Some bright or sunny intervals in the morning, the best of these across Orkney. Thickening cloud will spread south in the afternoon. Often dry but the chance of the odd passing shower, mainly in the afternoon. Light winds. Maximum temperature 6 °C.

Tonight:

A dry start to the evening, but cloud soon thickening. This brings often persistent rain across Shetland, but more showery rain over Orkney. Much milder than recent nights. Freshening winds. Minimum temperature 1 °C.

Sunday 3rd April:

Outbreaks of rain will turn increasingly persistent through the day, becoming heavy by late afternoon. Breezy and turning milder. Maximum temperature 8 °C.

Outlook for Monday to Wednesday:

Rain easing through Monday, turning colder later Monday with wintery showers, these continuing at times on Tuesday and Wednesday. More persistent rain may spread across Orkney Tuesday night.
