Today 7th June:

Rather cloudy start with the chance of a few light drizzly showers cropping up. However the majority will stay dry with sunny spells spreading from the north across Shetland during the morning, eventually reaching Orkney by early evening. Northeast breezes. Maximum temperature 13 °C.

Tonight:

Dry with early evening sunshine, then cloud returning from the southeast late evening and overnight. Northeasterly breezes occasionally fresh across Shetland. Minimum temperature 8 °C.

Wednesday 8th June:

Rather cloudy, but dry with northeast winds occasionally fresh, and over northern parts of Shetland strong. Maximum temperature 13 °C.

Outlook for Thursday to Saturday:

Thursday mainly dry and cloudy, with Shetland seeing best of the limited brighter spells. Sunshine and showers for Friday, Saturday, with winds now from the south strengthening.

    But there is a definite chill creeping up from the South – an ill wind blowing – rising from a source in Downing Street…..
