The latest figures for Covid related deaths have been published on the NRS (National Records of Scotland) website.
- As of 5th June 2022, there have been a total of 14,820 deaths registered in Scotland where the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) was mentioned on the death certificate.
- In week 22 (30th May to 5th June) there were 20 deaths involving COVID-19 (26 fewer than the previous week).
- The provisional total number of all deaths registered in Scotland in week 22 of 2022 (30th May to 5th June) was 836 (18% below the 5-year average). This week’s figures will be artificially low due to the bank holiday weekend.
Covid related deaths in Scotland by age for 30th May to 5th June:
- Age 45 – 64: 2 deaths
- Age 65 – 74: 8 deaths
- Age 75 – 84: 2 deaths
- Age 85+ : 8 days
18 deaths were in hospital, 1 in a Care Home and 1 at Home/Non Institutional setting.
