A dull, cloudy day with some drizzly showers, mist and perhaps fog patches, driven across the Isles on fresh to strong westerly winds. Brighter spells feeding across Shetland towards early evening. Maximum temperature 16 °C.
Cloud and drizzly rain early evening across Orkney. Otherwise sunshine and clear spells mixed between a scattering of light showers. Winds west to northwest fresh to strong. Minimum temperature 10 °C.
Saturday 9th July:
Mainly dry with bright and sunny spells. Westerly winds brisk at first. Area of showery rain feeding from the west from evening. Maximum temperature 16 °C.
Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday:
Sunday and Monday start overcast with occasional rain, heavier on Sunday, before turning drier and potentially brighter from the south later in the days. Tuesday windy with periods of rain.
