Tractor Attraction

It was tractors galore at the 2022 Orkney Vintage Show, held over the weekend of the 6th and 7th of August at Orkney Auction Mart, Kirkwall.

The weather was none too good on the Saturday but it cleared up for Sunday’s events which also included the indoor exhibition.

What was outstanding was the display of tractors at this year’s event. Here’s just a few of them

There were also some more unusual tractors.

Cars were later arriving on Saturday but there were some excellent vehicles.

And some had a tale to tell: This car was once driven around North Devon by the District Nurse

The reason people settled in Orkney was because they were farmers – here, in these islands they built a successful community. It was good to see recognition of the importance of farming not just through the amazing array of tractors and other farm vehicles but also in the attachments.

A great day for all ages. Click on this link to find out more about Orkney Vintage Club
