Low cloud with outbreaks of rain. The rain patchy in the morning, turning persistent and occasionally heavy in the afternoon. Windy at times, easing from late afternoon. Maximum temperature 15 °C.

Tonight:

Skies stay cloudy with rain becoming light and patchy from evening. There will be an increasing risk of mist or fog patches over Shetland towards morning. Minimum temperature 12 °C.

Tuesday 9th August:

Wet and windy at times across Shetland with outbreaks of rain and drizzle and an occasionally strong westerly or southwesterly wind. Often drier across Orkney, but still rather breezy. Maximum temperature 17 °C.

Outlook for Wednesday to Friday:

Wet and windy with periods of rain and drizzle at times across Shetland, often drier across Orkney. An occasionally strong westerly or southwesterly wind falls light from Thursday evening.
