Weather Forecast: Overcast and misty with patchy drizzle and fog.

Today 14th August:

Overcast skies dominating on a misty day with occasional light rain, drizzle and fog patches. Area of showers feeding from the south towards early evening, bringing the risk of thunderstorms to Orkney. Light to moderate south to southeast breezes. Maximum temperature 18 °C.


Remaining cloudy with occasional showers, these perhaps heavy at times, particularly during the early evening. Further mist and fog patches. Light winds turning to the north towards dawn. Minimum temperature 13 °C.

Monday 15th August:

Cloudy again with frequent showers, with chance of some turning heavy. Northerly breezes freshening through the day. Maximum temperature 17 °C.

Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday:

Rather cloudy, showery weather early Tuesday, clearing as largely dry, bright, fresher conditions feed erratically from the southwest. Wednesday mainly dry, bright. Thursday sees weakening rainbands crossing from west.
