Mainly dry with some sunshine this morning. A few passing showers developing this afternoon. Brisk southwesterly winds across Shetland at first, easing down by afternoon. Maximum temperature 16 °C.

Tonight:

A few showers at first otherwise dry overnight with clear periods. Clouds increasing later tonight with a little rain approaching Orkney by morning along with freshening southerly winds. Minimum temperature 10 °C.

Saturday 20th August:

Mainly dry with bright spells over Shetland. Orkney cloudy with rain for a time in the morning then brighter with a few showers in afternoon. Fresh south or southwest winds. Maximum temperature 16 °C.

Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday:

Mainly dry on Sunday and into Monday with sunny spells and lighter winds. Rain arriving during Monday accompanied by strong southeast winds. Drier, brighter weather returning Tuesday with lighter winds.
