Today 24th August:

Rain, heavy at times, will clear Orkney early on Wednesday and becoming brighter here. Heavier rain clearing Shetland by around lunchtime, although cloud and light rain may linger. Mist and fog returning to Shetland by evening becoming windy too. Maximum temperature 18 °C.

Tonight:

Winds strengthening through the evening and most mist and fog patches clearing from Shetland. Mainly dry with some clear spells through the night. Minimum temperature 10 °C.

Thursday 25th August:

Dry and mainly sunny on Thursday, perhaps a fleeting shower for Orkney, strong southwesterly winds easing during the day too. Maximum temperature 17 °C.

Outlook for Friday to Sunday:

Dry, bright with sunny spells and light winds on Friday and most of Saturday, increasing cloud for Sunday and perhaps some rain
