A rather cloudy start across Orkney but brighter across Shetland with some sunny spells. The brighter conditions edging southwest across Orkney through the afternoon. Mainly light easterly or northeasterly winds, but fresher at times across Orkney. Maximum temperature 15 °C.

Tonight:

Some late sunshine then clear spells overnight, although cloud across Shetland likely to increase through the early hours with the odd light shower possible. Mainly light northeasterly winds. Minimum temperature 7 °C.

Tuesday 30th August:

A few sunny spells around but generally quite a lot of cloud around through much of the day, however most places should remain dry. Light northeasterly breeze. Maximum temperature 15 °C.

Outlook for Wednesday to Friday:

Largely dry and bright through Wednesday and Thursday. Rather more cloud Friday with some showery outbreaks of rain and a freshening southeasterly breeze.
