A dry and bright day with some sunshine across Orkney, but more in the way of cloud over Shetland and this perhaps thick enough to give a few light showers. Feeling pleasant in the sunshine with just light winds. Maximum temperature 15 °C.

Tonight:

A bright evening with some sunshine then dry overnight with a few clear spells, although mist and low cloud may form over Shetland later in the night. Minimum temperature 10 °C.

Friday 2nd September:

Any mist and low cloud soon clearing from Shetland then another bright day with some sunshine for the Northern Isles, perhaps a few showers later for Orkney. Freshening southeasterly winds. Maximum temperature 14 °C.

Outlook for Saturday to Monday:

Dry and bright on Saturday with strengthening easterly winds, clouding over from the south on Sunday with showery rain later. Further rain or showers on Monday, winds slowly moderating.
