Attending the celebration were the volunteer crew members from across that 50 years of operation.

Mike Cooper Lifeboat Operations Manager at Kirkwall RNLI said:

“50 years is a significant milestone for the station and to have so many past and present crew attend our celebration helps to highlight the dedication and commitment of volunteers nationwide”

“Our local fundraising teams, who are the backbone of the RNLI, were also very much involved in the celebrations.”
