It’s Been A Busy Time At Orkney Men’s Shed

Hello from a busy Orkney Men’s Shed in Stromness. This week our members have been working on various community woodworking projects, projects for the Shed itself, rebuilding and testing some electronics, using our computers, chopping up firewood for sale, and there’s also been a lot of sitting down for a blether over a brew and a biscuit. We’re also really looking forward to next month’s visit from the Blide Trust.

We have been joined by new members from South Ronaldsay and Birsay as well this week, it’s great to see new people coming along and jumping right into helping out with various community projects. So if you’re free and fancy helping out at the Shed (in whatever capacity to can manage), please come along. We’re open to all men over 18, on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 1000 – 1600 at the old Herring Factory in Stromness.

Also, as it’s the end of the month, we’ve made our monthly 200 Club draw today and this month’s lucky winners are:

£40 – Ticket 027 – Heddle Poke

£20 – Ticket 141 – Stevie Nicholson

£10 – Ticket 003 – David Hughes

£10 – Ticket 012 – Jon Murchie

A members of the Shed will be in touch with the winners shortly, to sort out getting their winnings to them.

Thank you to everyone that supports the Orkney Men’s Shed 200 Club (and for all the other amazing support we are given by you all), it really makes a huge difference to the Shed members, and to the assistance that we can then give to the community.

If you want more information about the Shed, feel free to join the Orkney Men’s Shed Facebook group, or contact our Chair, Morgan Harcus, on 01856 751362
