Overnight cloud and rain clearing from the west this morning. This afternoon will be mainly dry with some good spells of sunshine and the odd passing shower. Fresh to strong southwesterly winds. Maximum temperature 15 °C.

Tonight:

Apart from the odd shower it will be a mostly dry night with clear skies this evening. Thickening cloud may bring a little rain to Orkney later. Minimum temperature 9 °C.

Wednesday 5th October:

Cloudy with rain in the morning. Brighter in the afternoon with a few showers, these becoming heavier and more frequent by evening. Westerly gales developing in the evening. Maximum temperature 12 °C.

Outlook for Thursday to Saturday:

Unsettled with showers or occasionally longer spells of rain. Windy with strong west or southwesterly winds.
