A bright day with a mixture of sunny intervals and occasional blustery showers, a few heavier, squally showers during the afternoon and feeling quite chilly in the strong southwesterly winds which will ease a little later. Maximum temperature 11 °C.
Tonight:
Fresh southwesterly winds easing down during the evening and showers becoming less frequent, especially for Orkney. Clear spells developing for Shetland, cloudier for Orkney by dawn. Minimum temperature 6 °C.
Saturday 15th October:
Rain for Orkney in the morning with a drier afternoon. Shetland will see a mostly dry and bright morning with some rain later. Breezy at times. Maximum temperature 11 °C.
Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday:
Showery, cool weather continuing later in the weekend. Rain and strong winds likely on Monday, perhaps some drier and brighter weather by Tuesday.
