Dry morning with sunny spells across Shetland, but cloudier across Orkney with occasionally heavy rain. The rain clears Orkney early afternoon with sunny spells and showers developing, but Shetland becomes cloudier with some heavy rain. Occasionally strong southeasterly winds easing. Maximum temperature 11 °C.

Tonight:

Cloud and heavy rain across Shetland soon clearing this evening, then clear spells and occasionally heavy showers for the Northern Isles. Fresh southwesterly winds easing. Minimum temperature 5 °C.

Sunday:

Sunny spells and showers, still occasionally heavy through the morning. The showers becoming fewer and further between in afternoon with more in the way of sunshine. Occasionally fresh westerly winds. Maximum temperature 12 °C.

Outlook for Monday to Wednesday:

Occasionally heavy rain Monday morning turns more showery in afternoon with strong easterly winds turning northerly. A few showers Tuesday morning, but generally Tuesday and Wednesday dry with sunny spells.
