Today 16th October:
Sunny spells and showers, still occasionally heavy through the morning, perhaps early afternoon for Shetland, then turrning lighter, fewer and further between with more in the way of sunshine. Strengthening westerly winds Maximum temperature 12 °C.
Tonight:
Isolated light showers and clear periods, strong westerly winds easing, but heavy rain and strengthening easterly winds reaching Orkney towards morning. Minimum temperature 6 °C.
Monday 17th October:
Shetland starting dry, but rain soon spreading from the south, some heavy. After a wet start Orkeny will turn brighter but showers will return later. Strong northeasterly winds. Maximum temperature 12 °C.
Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday:
Tuesday and Wednesday will be mainly dry with some sunshine and winds will be mainly light. Cloudier on Thursday with freshening southeasterly winds, perhaps some rain later.
