A bright day with some sunshine at times but also a few light showers, these most frequent across Shetland with more in the way of sunshine for Orkney. Fresh northerly winds slowly easing. Maximum temperature 12 °C.
Any light showers dying out during the evening then a dry night with clear spells developing, leading to a frost in sheltered spots as the winds fall light. Minimum temperature 2 °C.
Wednesday 19th October:
A chilly start then a dry and bright day with some sunshine at times. Feeling quite pleasant over Shetland with just light winds, but the southeasterly breeze freshening over Orkney. Maximum temperature 8 °C.
Outlook for Thursday to Saturday:
Clouding over with outbreaks of rain on Thursday, then mainly cloudy and misty with some light rain or drizzle on Friday. Brightening up from the north on Friday. Breezy.
