The Scottish Government is consulting on the future for the Agricultural sector.

A series of consultation events both in person and online are taking place.

There will be an opportunity to share your views in person on 28th of November at the Albert Hotel, Kirkwall. The event runs from 7 to 9pm. You can find out more and how to register here: Agriculture Bill Consultation – Orkney

As part of the Scottish Government’s consultation process to develop a new Agriculture Bill, nine face to face events will be held in locations across Scotland.

These will be general sessions looking at the proposals of the Agriculture Bill. There will also be five online virtual events focusing on specific themes included in the bill. Further information on these can be found here:

• Rural Development and Forestry
• Agricultural Wages
• Modernisation of Agricultural Tenancies

The aim of these events is to gather initial views on the Scottish Government’s proposals outlined in the consultation, “Delivering our Vision for Scottish Agriculture, Proposals for a new Agriculture Bill”.

These events will not focus on providing detail of future measures or schemes. They are an opportunity for individuals and organisations to discuss the proposed powers and the development of a new Bill that supports Scotland’s ambition to support high-quality food production and be a global leader in sustainable and regenerative agriculture.

To register for an event please complete the registration section. Please note that spaces are limited and as such we would ask organisations to refrain from registering multiple representatives. Prior to attendance we would ask those registered to review the consultation paper so that they are able to constructively take part in the event.
