On 4th of December 1915 The Peace Ship, Ocean liner Oscar II, set sail from the USA to Europe.

‘to get the boys out of the trenches by Christmas’ Henry Ford

This was Henry Ford’s great project to convene a Peace Conference in Norway bringing together an end to World War I.

The war was to continue on its slaughter until November 11 1918. Estimates of the death toll “20 million deaths and 21 million wounded. The total number of deaths includes 9.7 million military personnel and about 10 million civilians” WW1 Casualties

After the war there was a refugee crisis, the economic collapse of Germany and disease swept through many countries.
