Less frequent wintry showers this morning and of rain or sleet at low levels, but heavier, more frequent showers in the afternoon, though snow level lifting a little more. Feeling cold in the strong north or northwest winds. Maximum temperature 5 °C.

Tonight:

Wintry showers will continue, mainly of rain and sleet with any lying snow confined to the hills. The north to northeast winds fresh, occasionally strong. Minimum temperature 0 °C.

Friday 9th December:

A mixture of bright spells and wintry showers, again mainly of rain or sleet with snow confined to the hills. Another cold day, winds mainly fresh from the northeast. Maximum temperature 4 °C.

Outlook for Saturday to Monday:

Continuing showery, with snow down to lower levels at times across Shetland, although turning mainly back to rain by Monday. Fresh northeast winds easing, turning into the southeast on Monday.
