Clear periods and a few passing showers, although becoming dry towards the end of the night. Fresh southwesterly easing and becoming a light southerly later. Minimum temperature 4 °C.

Wednesday 21st December:

Rather cloudy across Orkney with a few showers. Shetland mainly dry with some brightness. Light winds. Maximum temperature 7 °C.

Outlook for Thursday to Saturday:

Becoming colder with some occasional snow showers and bright spells. Overnight frost with some icy patches.
