Clear periods and a few showers continuing through the evening and night, heavy across Orkney this evening. Freshening northeasterly winds later in the night across Shetland. Minimum temperature 4 °C.

Thursday 22nd December:

A cold and bright day with a few wintry showers, these most frequent across Shetland. Brisk northeasterly winds across Shetland. Maximum temperature 6 °C.

Outlook for Friday to Sunday:

Bright spells and a few wintry showers on Friday and Saturday. Mainly dry on Sunday. Cold with overnight frost and icy patches.
