Tonight:
Clear spells with a few wintry showers continue overnight. Fresh northeast winds ease across Shetland while turning east across Orkney. Minimum temperature -1 °C.
Saturday 24th December:
Showers clear slowly as snow spreads north across Orkney Saturday, turning to rain as southeast winds strengthen. Maximum temperature 3 °C.
Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday:
Rain clearing to showers Christmas Day. Severe west or northwest gales developing into Monday, bringing snow showers. Snow showers turn to longer periods of rain as the wind eases Tuesday.
