A cold and cloudy day with a few showers, these wintry across Shetland. Some persistent rain will move up into Orkney late in the afternoon. Strong southeasterly winds. Maximum temperature 4 °C.
Tonight:
Outbreaks of rain soon spread across Shetland, as rain turns to clear spells and showers, some heavy, across Orkney. Showers spread to Shetland later. Strong southeasterly winds. Minimum temperature 1 °C.
Sunday 25th December:
Scattered showers continue through Christmas Day as strong to gale force southerly winds turn westerly. Maximum temperature 5 °C.
Outlook for Monday to Wednesday:
Westerly gales and wintry showers on Boxing Day. Outbreaks of rain spread northeast on Tuesday when winds ease briefly in the morning. Strong southwesterly gales and showers continue Wednesday.
