Today 20th January:
A few showers at first, mainly across Shetland, but these will slowly die out. Otherwise it will be a largely dry day with some sunshine. Fresh northerly winds will become light and variable. Maximum temperature 5 °C.
Tonight:
A dry evening with clear spells leading to a frost. Turning cloudy with southerly winds becoming strong overnight and temperatures picking up. Some rain arriving late in the night. Minimum temperature 0 °C.
Saturday 21st January:
A mostly cloudy day with occasional rain or drizzle but drier and brighter at times over Orkney. A milder day with strong southerly winds touching gale force at times. Maximum temperature 7 °C.
Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday:
A lot of cloudy weather with rain at times but also some drier and brighter interludes. Much milder than of late with fresh or strong southwesterly winds.
