It will be rather cloudy with the best of the brightness across Orkney. Mainly dry, but patchy light rain will push through at times and winds strong from the south or southwest, gales around Shetland. Maximum temperature 7 °C.

Tonight:

Mild and windy, gales persisting across Shetland . Dry for much of the time, but rather cloudy and patchy light rain still possible at times. Minimum temperature 5 °C.

Sunday 22nd January:

Still mostly cloudy with patchy rain at times, mainly light with drier spells, perhaps some brightness across Orkney. Winds easing and the cloud thinning and breaking in the evening. Maximum temperature 8 °C.

Outlook for Monday to Wednesday:

A bright start possible on Monday, but a lot of cloudy weather with rain at times and windy too. Wednesday brighter and colder with wintry showers.
