Cloudy start but last of overnight rain clearing by dawn. Then a brighter day with sunny spells and just a few light passing showers, mostly over Shetland. Southwest winds strengthening later. Maximum temperature 8 °C.
Tonight:
Dry with clear periods overnight although cloudier conditions edging in by morning. Staying mild and becoming windy with strong southerly winds, reaching gale force by morning. Minimum temperature 5 °C.
Wednesday 8th February:
Dry morning with thickening cloud. Rain will extend from west across the Isles during afternoon, turning heavier early evening. Strong to gale force southerly winds, easing later. Maximum temperature 8 °C.
Outlook for Thursday to Saturday:
Colder on Thursday with strong westerly winds, sunny spells and blustery showers, dying out later. Mostly cloudy on Friday and Saturday with patchy light rain. Westerly winds staying strong.
