A dry bright start with some sunshine for a time before cloud increases. A narrow band of rain will cross from the west followed by brighter weather with sunshine and showers. Strong southerly winds veering southwesterly. Maximum temperature 9 °C.

Tonight:

There will; be a mixture of clear intervals and showers, some of these quite heavy with the chance of thunder before turning lighter overnight. Strong to gale southwesterly winds. Minimum temperature 4 °C.

Thursday 16th February:

A bright day with a mixture of sunny intervals and scattered showers, these mostly dying out across Orkney by afternoon. Winds easing. Turning wet and windy at night. Maximum temperature 7 °C.

Outlook for Friday to Sunday:

Friday unsettled with rain or showers and gales, possibly severe. Saturday and Sunday brighter with sunshine, scattered showers and lighter winds.
