Some rain across Orkney at first this morning, becoming dry by late morning. Otherwise it will be a mostly dry and rather cloudy day. Rain and snow spreading into Shetland later in the afternoon. Light northerly winds. Maximum temperature 5 °C.
Tonight:
A spell of rain will spread south this evening, becoming prolonged with some snow expected across Shetland. The early hours will see clear periods and frequent snow and hail showers. Minimum temperature 0 °C.
Monday 6th March:
A very cold day with sunny intervals and frequent snow and hail showers, briefly heavy. Bitterly cold, strong northerly winds. Maximum temperature 3 °C.
Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday:
Continuing very cold with frequent snow and hail showers along with sunny intervals. Overnight frost and icy patches.
