Orkney cloudy with some rain at first, and perhaps again later in the afternoon, otherwise dry. Sleet, snow across Shetland turning to rain before it turns drier with some brightness through the afternoon. Feeling less cold with southerly winds. Maximum temperature 5 °C.
Tonight:
A dry evening with some clear spells but a return to strong, cold northerly winds and wintery showers by dawn. Minimum temperature 1 °C.
Monday 13th March:
Northerly gales on Monday, feeling bitterly cold with frequent showers, sleet turning increasingly to snow, some brightness outwith the showers. Maximum temperature 4 °C.
Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday:
The cold northerly winds and wintery showers persisting on Tuesday and Wednesday, winds easing later on Wednesday and a drier and brighter day on Thursday.
