Shetland will have a cloudy day with rain, becoming drier later in the afternoon. Rain dying out across Orkney this morning to leave a dry afternoon with some sunshine breaking through. Maximum temperature 9 °C.

Tonight:

Dry this evening, low cloud clearing away from Shetland. Then freshening southeasterly winds will bring persistent and occasionally heavy rain northwards in the early hours. Minimum temperature 6 °C.

Wednesday 22nd March:

Overnight rain clearing away through the morning. Then rather cloudy with showers or longer spells of rain. Fresh occasionally strong southwesterly winds. Maximum temperature 9 °C.

Outlook for Thursday to Saturday:

Sunny intervals and a few showers, these turning wintry on Saturday as it becomes colder from the north.
