A day of sunshine and showers. with outbreaks tending to be light and quite isolated, perhaps more organised across Orkney for the morning. Winds northerly strengthening from the north through the day. Maximum temperature 9 °C.

Tonight:

Strong north to northeast winds pushing showers and clear spells across the Northern Isles, with outbreaks turning more frequent, and towards dawn wintry at times. Minimum temperature 0 °C.

Saturday 25th March:

Cold with north to northeast winds, strong at first, driving wintry showers across the Northern Isles, but little snow expected to settle by day. Maximum temperature 4 °C.

Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday:

With northerly winds largely established a run of wintry showers will dominate, with outbreaks heaviest, most frequent Sunday, perhaps turning more to rain for time late Monday and early Tuesday.
