It will be cloudy with outbreaks of rain this morning, further rain at times across Shetland in the afternoon with some mist. Turning drier in Orkney, brighter spells possible. Fresh to strong southerly winds, easing later. Maximum temperature 12 °C.

Tonight:

Outbreaks of rain, drizzle and mist expected to persist across Shetland, but mainly dry in Orkney with some clearer spells. Winds mainly light in Orkney, but breezy in Shetland. Minimum temperature 4 °C.

Thursday 6th April:

Rain expected across Shetland for much of the day, occasionally heavy. The rain could also nudge back into Orkney at times.. Maximum temperature 10 °C.

Outlook for Friday to Sunday:

A mainly dry and settled period of weather with bright and sunny spells. Light winds on Friday, but often fresh form the south or southeast over the weekend.
