A mostly bright day with a mixture of sunshine and a few showers, but northern Shetland starting cloudier. Moderate to fresh northwesterly winds easing through the day. Maximum temperature 9 °C.

Tonight:

Clouding over across Orkney through this evening, with heavy rain spreading from the south during the early hours. This later reaching Shetland. Winds becoming strong easterly. Minimum temperature 3 °C.

Wednesday 12th April:

Rain turning showery through the morning, showers then easing during the afternoon. Very strong winds at first, easing a little through the day. Maximum temperature 7 °C.

Outlook for Thursday to Saturday:

There will be a mix of sunshine and scattered showers on Thursday and Friday, with winds easing. Mainly dry and fine on Saturday.
